Volkswagen Scirocco 1.8 Turbo (MK2) Petrol (1982)
This beautiful Volkswagen Scirocco mk2 was a barn find which we nursed back to life and resto-modded to what we see today. The asthmatic 1.8 carburettor engine was dumped in favour of the tried and tested Audi TT BAM power plant, and mated with a 02A hydro clutch cable change gearbox. Like all restoration projects, this one grew far more than expected with full respray and custom interior added to the list of work. Car sits on classic Porsche design 90 rims and SSP suspension and is stopped by Golf G60 brakes.

Brakes
- Volkswagen Golf G60 Front Brake Conversion
The tried and tested 285mm Golf G60 was utilised here as it was the biggest budget brakes that could be fitted under the 16inch wheels. This set up is an excellent off the shelf upgrade that works.
Induction

We recommend these induction kits for this engine set up as it allows additional performance and a little more, tasteful turbo noise
Engine Hardware
- Audi TT 1.8 20v Turbo Engine Conversion
The tried and tested Audi TT BAM engine was the logical choice for this project! Offering 265 bhp with little modification required to make it fit. This one runs onOEM management meaning it’s reliable and easily diagnosable - Front Mounted Intercooler
- 4 Bar Map Sensor / KO4 turbo / track slag turbo hard pipe / blow off valve
The hardware is very much stock for this engine, however a lot of it has been updated for durability or indeed fitment to this vehicle.

The car’s exterior really was showing signs of neglect, so ended up with a full respray in standard colour to bring it back to life
